Our Award Winning Betsy Band
"Wright to the Moon"

   Our 2012 Betsy Band placed first in Class AAAA Music in the Castle Marching Contest in Bristol,  Tennessee.  The band was awarded Best Drum Major, Best Music, Best General Effect, Best Visual, Best Percussion and Second Place Color Guard.  The band received a Superior Rating at the 31st Annual Volunteer Classic at Heritage High School in Maryville, TN.  Betsy was awarded first place in Class A and took home the Sweepstakes trophy for Best Band in Class A/B.  Elizabethton's Betsy Band competed at Knox Farragut High School in the Admiral's Cup Invitational.  Betsy was named Grand Champion and Band of the Day in this highly competitive event.  In our final competition of the season, Betsy traveled to Nashville competing once again in the Tennessee Division II State Marching Band Championship hosted by Independence High School.  They received a superior rating in all four categories including drum major, percussion, color guard, and overall effect.  With an impressive score of 93.6, the band was awarded First Place and the Govenor's Cup Trophy.  They earned First Place Drum Major, First Place Color Guard, and Second Place Percussion.
